Navy JROTC

I was drawn to Navy JROTC immediately when I entered highschool. When I joined the program, became the only freshman on the varsity team, and spent countless hours with my peers at practice and competitions, my highschool experience had been transformed.

The clarity and ambition military standards instilled within me three years ago are still, to this day, my driving force on campus.

Executive Commander 2026-2027

Being the Executive Commander means different things to each person that comes to hold the billet. While on paper the job entails management of the entire battalion for a year, to me it means being the dependable leader that always knows what's going on, someone that can organize administrative nightmares, and being the voice for all 150 cadets.

Sprints Commander 2025-2026

I commanded and trained a 16 person team to run in a 100 yard relay in NJROTC competition. This past year, we have won 1st place in all competitions up to our biggest competition, the Area 21 Drill Meet. I developed cadets’ sprinting form, improved their times, and hosted hour-long practices every Tuesday from 6 am to 7 am.

Platoon Commander 2024-2025

I was directly in charge of 15 cadets throughout the school year. This meant that I was their first point of contact in our chain of command, as starting from sophomore year cadets can hold leadership positions. I taught them military drill, trained their physical fitness, and hosted bonding events in collaboration with the five other platoon commanders.

Los Angeles Orienteering Club

Orienteering Commander 2025-2026

I lead and trained three teams composed of a varsity, junior varisty, and frosh team to state and national competitions. When doing orienteering, cadets run in a forest for a minimum of three miles, maximum of seven. The objective is to find checkpoints in the same order marked on their map with only a compass.
